Worksop Town v NFU

Evostik League Premier Division
Worksop Town v North Ferriby United (at Retford United FC)
Wednesday 6 April 2011 Kick-off 7.45pm

Ferriby travel to Retford to play promotion rivals Worksop Town. With 5 league matches left, it is going to be a nail-biting finish to the season for The Villagers. Saturday's disappointing home defeat to Marine saw John Anderson's team drop to fourth in the Evostik Premier Division.

Ferriby were not at their best last Saturday but could have stolen a point at the end but for Ryan McMahon saving Alex Davidson's penalty.

Anderson must be somewhat perplexed by the contrast between his team's home and away form this season form which has seen the side gain more points on their travel than at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium. Anderson will certainly be looking for his players to maintain their away against Worksop. A win for Ferriby could well end the Nottinghamshire side‘s play -off hopes as well as boosting Ferriby's own chances.

Ferriby's defence against Marine was probably the youngest and most inexperienced the Club has fielded. In fact, the team overall has a relatively low average age and the experience of such an intense season will certainly stand them in good stead next season.

Ferriby have been badly hit with injuries in the last 10 days and a number of players are still carrying injuries. This is putting a strain on Ferriby's small squad and Anderson will again have to juggle with his squad at Worksop.

Gary Bradshaw returns from suspension but defender Sam Denton is suspended for the Worksop and Nantwich games. Hopefully, Kyle Hadley will have recovered from illness and be available on Wednesday.

Possible Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Adam Nicklin, James Williams, Ben Morley, Ben Turner, Paul Foot, Dan Wilkinson, Paul Harsley, Kevin Larvin, Chris Bolder, Peter Davidson, Gary Bradshaw, Russell Fry, Wayne Brooksby, Alex Davidson, Kyle Hadley, Luke Thompson, John Leonard
