Ossett Town v NFU

Ossett Town v North Ferriby United
Evostik League Premier Division
Saturday 4 September  2010 Kick-off 3 pm

North Ferriby travel to Osset Town for an Evostik League Premier Division fixture. Ossett finished in a relegation position last season but were reprieved. They are unbeaten so far this season starting with three draws and then gaining their first win on Monday at Bradford Park Avenue.

The match will be another tough test for The Villagers who have begun this season with the same set of results as last year, one victory, one draw and two home defeats. The management duo of Neil Allison and John Anderson will be expecting their players to start showing the form that they successfully displayed after last season's sluggish start.

Neil Allison commented  "The Ossett match is a massive game for us a and we need to get back to that form.s we have not had the best of starts. We have to work harder to stop conceding silly goals. We had a large number of clean sheets last season and we need to start grinding out the 1-0 results in the close games. We are always going to create chances and score goals with the quality of players we have. Perhaps there is a little bit of complacency after last season but if we reproduce the hard work we displayed last season the results will come."

Early results in the Division only serve to reinforce Allison's view that there will be no easy games in the League this year. With only Ashton United unbeaten after just four games, the League promises to be as tight as ever with every team capable of beating everybody else.

Mark Whitehouse has left the club to join Frickley Athletic but with Sam Denton returning from suspension, Allison has a full squad to choose from.

Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Ben Hallam,  Ben Turner, Tom Matthews, Paul Foot, Sam Denton, Paul Ellender, Kevin Larvin, Paul Harsley, Chris Bolder, Ben Morley, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Alex Davidson, Gareth Owen, Ged Dalton, Chris White, Wayne Brooksby
