Evostik League Premier Division
North Ferriby United v Retford United
Rapid Solicitors Stadium, North Ferriby
Tuesday 28 September 2010 Kick-off 7.45 pm
Following Saturday's comperehensive 5-2 FA Cup victory over Stocksbridge Park SteelsNorth Ferriby return to Evostik premier Division action on Tuesday night when they entertain Retford United.
Retford are struggling this season and are currently bottom of the division. However, Ferriby's management duo, Neil Allison and John Anderson, will be reminding their players that there are no easy matches in this division and that there is no room for complacency. With only 6 points separating the top thirteen clubs, every win is vital.
Allison and Anderson will have been delighted with the attitude and resilience of their players against Stocksbridge. The Villagers were twice a goal behind but fought back each time to gain a well-deserved victory. With a strong wind dictating how the game could be played, Ferriby dominated with their passing game and the final score was no more than they deserved.
Ferriby are now unbeaten in 7 games. Goals are being scored by players throughout the team and Alex Davidson's goal against Stocksbridge was his 50th for the Club.
Skipper Paul Foot's hernia operation on Friday went well but he will be out for four to six weeks while he recovers. With no major injury worries, Allison should have an almost full squad to select from.
Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Ben Hallam, Ben Turner, Tom Matthews, Sam Denton, Paul Ellender, Kevin Larvin, Paul Harsley, Chris Bolder, Ben Morley, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Alex Davidson, Chris White, Wayne Brooksby
