NFU v Ossett Town
FA Cup First Round Qualifying sponsored by Eon North Ferriby United v Ossett Town Rapid Solicitors Stadium, North Ferriby Saturday 11 September 2010 Kick-off 3.00 pm North Ferriby begin their FA Cup campaign when they welcome last Saturday’s opponents Ossett Town to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium for a First Round Qualifying match. Ferriby dominated last week’s game and were unfortunate not to have won. An FA Cup fixture always has a touch of romance and glamour about it. For Ferriby success in the Cup is about raising the profile of the Club and a break from League fixtures. A successful run not only brings prize money but is attractive to current and potential sponsors and to fans. Ferriby’s management duo of Neil Allison and John Anderson were delighted with the side’s midweek win over Worksop Town. The Villagers were once again in dominant mood and played some extremely skilful and fast passing football. They created numerous chances and were equally strong defensively. After some defensive lapses in the opening fixtures Allison will have been happy with two clean sheets in four days. Allison commented, “I was extremely pleased with the performance against Worksop. We now have to produce that type of form consistently. The players have now set a high standard for themselves. Despite last week’s good performance against Ossett, we will not be complacent on Saturday.” With no injuries from Wednesday’s match Allison has a full squad to choose from. Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Ben Hallam, Ben Turner, Tom Matthews, Paul Foot, Sam Denton, Paul Ellender, Kevin Larvin, Paul Harsley, Chris Bolder, Ben Morley, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Alex Davidson, Ged Dalton, Chris White, Wayne Brooksby
