East Riding Senior Cup Quarter Final
North Ferriby United v Malet Lambert
Tuesday 8 February 2011 Kick-off 7.45
The Villagers entertain Humber Premier League side Malet Lambert for an East Riding Senior Cup quarter-final match looking for a place in the semi-final. Whilst the Club would obviously like to retain the Senior Cup, promotion remains the team's' priority.
The incentive for all the teams in the competition is a place in the Final at the KC Stadium. Ferriby have made the Senior Cup pretty much their own trophy in recent seasons but Anderson and his team will not be underestimating Malet. Playing under floodlights in a fully enclosed stadium will be something of an experience for many of the Malet Lambert players and they are likely to raise their game.
Saturday's draw at Northwich Victoria was well-deserved. The whole game was played in persistent driving rain and the quality of the football in such conditions was a credit to both sides Folllowing Saturday's match Anderson said, "We would probably have taken a point before the match and a draw was a fair result. I thought we might have pinched all three with a couple of chances in the last five minutes."
Saturday's match saw milestones for Club Captain Paul Foot and keeper Steve Wilson with them respectively making their 200th and 100th league appearances for the Ferriby.
Manager John Anderson will probably play a much changed team against Malet in order to give pitch time to squad players and run his eye over some of the Club's reserves. Opportunities to break into a winning team cn b limited but James Williams has shown it is possible to break-in to the squad as and whn the opportunity arises. One player who will not be in the squad is Gareth Owen who has transferred to local rivals Bridlingtown Town.
Admission on Tuesday will be at he reduced prices of £4 and £2. Full catering and Clubhouse faciltities will be available.
