North Ferriby United 4-0 Ossett Town

Ferriby totally dominated this match against relegated Ossett Town and climbed back in to the play-off places to increase the pressure on rival Buxton and Bradford Park Avenue who play tomorrow.

The visitors' defence looked uncomfortable throughout the game under Ferriby's almost continual pressure.

For all their pressure, Ferriby could not quite find a telling pass in the opening 15 minutes with a Chris Bolder header being the nearest to a goal.

Ferriby upped the tempo an Chris Bolder, twice, and Ben Turner went close to opening the scoring. The opening goal finally came after 24 minutes. Paul Harsley scored from the spot after Alex Davidson was fouled by Ossett keeper Neil Bennett as the striker charged down on goal.

Ferriby continued to surge forward with Davidson and Turner almost increasing the advantage. Ferriby's deserved second goal came after 42 minutes when Sam Denton chested the ball past the Ossett back four for Wayne Brooksby to run through and place the ball past Bennett.

Ossett's attacks were sporadic and created no clear-cut opportunities as Ferriby's defence remained solid.

Ferriby killed-off the game in the first minute of the second half. Davidson won the ball in the corner, turned the defender and laid the ball back to Kevin Larvin. Larvin's pin-point cross found Gary Bradshaw's head and the striker guided the ball past Bennett.

Ferriby continued to control the game but created no real chances until midway through the half when Fry and Bradshaw both went close.

The final goal came in the 67th minute.Paul Harsley's chip over the defence played-in Bradshaw who drew the defenders and the keeper before squaring to Davidson slid the ball home at the far post.

To Their credit, Ossett tried to play football and had a spell of 5 corners in quick succession. However, Denton and Wilson dealt with anything hit high.
Davidson and Bolder went close to making it five.

Dan Sheriffe almost scored in the final minute but Wilson saved with his legs, his only significant o.f the match.

The Villagers now travel to Frickley Athletic on Easter Monday with everything to play for. The game kicks-off at 3 p.m.
