North Ferriby United 1-2 Hednesford Town
By Graham Riley
Gary Bradshaw's 200th goal in a North Ferriby shirt was not enough to prevent his managerless side tasting defeat against fifth-placed Hednesford at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
Visiting striker Marvin Robinson had the game's first real chance, beating the keeper only for the ball cannon off the post and out of play. With nearly half an hour gone, a strong run by Wayne Brooksby teed up Bradshaw to rifle stylishly into the top corner to give the home side the lead. Hednesford turned the tie on its head with two in the final ten minutes of the half, Chris Clements headed the home side level from Darren Campion's cross, and then a Clements corner was nodded in at the far post by Chris Shaw on the stroke of half time.
From the second the first half began, Ferriby were gunning for an equaliser, Hednesford keeper Dan Crane had to block at close quarters from Sam Mulready when the striker latched onto a goal kick, then saw Bradshaw send a chipped effort just wide of his far post. Both defences did well to clear their lines as each end saw a goalmouth scramble in the dying moments, and the last kick of the game saw Ferriby keeper Steve Wilson parry an effort from Hednesford sub Nick Wellecomme.
