Following yet another blank Saturday due to the weather, Ferriby travel to Matlock on Tuesday hoping to kick-start their season again. Matlock are currently fourth in the Evostik Premier Division, one point and one place above Ferriby. The Worksop fixture has been re-arranged for Wednesday 2 February with a 7.45 kick-off.
Matlock managed to play on Saturday and gained a 1-0 victory at Frickley with a goal from the prolific Ross Hannah. They are always testing opponents but Ferriby will be confident that their fluid football and spirit will see them gain something from the game.
Although they have lsot two of their last four league matches, FC Halifax Town look likely champions so the battle appears to be for the four play-off places. This promises to be another tight affair with only four points separating Ferriby from 13th placed Hucknall.
Manager John Anderson and his players will have been frustrated and disappointed by the postponement of last Saturday's match against Worksop Town due to a water-logged pitch at Cannon Park. After picking-up four points the previous weekend, The Villagers were looking keep the momentum going as they push for promotion.
Saturday's postponement means another re-arranged fixture is now added to what will be a busy four months to the end of the season. With most teams still having at least half their league matches to play, it will be resilience and mental strength, as well as football, that will decide the season.
Goalkeeper Ben Hallam has been released by the Club. He has had limited opportunities over the last 18 months due to the form of regular keeper Steve Wilson. Hallam has been replaced by Adam Nicklin from Frickley Athletic. With the exception of the injured Paul Harsley, Anderson should have a full squad to choose from.
Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Adam Nicklin, Ben Turner, Paul Foot, Steve Burton, Sam Denton, James Williams Kevin Larvin, Chris Bolder, Ben Morley, Peter Davidson, Russell Fry, Alex Davidson, Gary Bradshaw, Wayne Brooksby, Chris White
