Evostik League Premier Division
Kendal Town v North Ferriby United
Saturday 6th November 2010 Kick-off 3.00 pm
Ferriby make the long trip to the Lake District for what is certain to be a tricky clash with Kendal Town.
Ferriby manager John Anderson will be hoping to continue his unbeaten start as Ferriby's manager but he has no doubts
that it will be a hard match. With Kendal just one place above the Villagers a win would be invaluable as it would see
Ferriby climb in to the promotion spots.
Looking towards the Kendal fixture Anderson commented, "Kendal have been playing well recently with two high-scoring league
wins and an away victory in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday. They are always a hard team to play against and we will need to be at
our best to get a win."
Last Saturday's Evostik Premier Division win over Ashton saw the Villagers climb six places to sixth. The 3-2 scoreline did not do
justice to Ferriby's dominance with both of Ashton's goals coming from somewhat debateable penalties. The highlight of the match
was Paul Harsley's opening goal which thundered in to the net from 35 yards.
Saturday's match may well provide an opportunity for some of the squad who have not seen much action recently. Keeper Steve Wilson
is doubtful with a back injury and Wayne Brooksby hurt his ankle in training on Tuesday. Unavailable are striker Gary Bradshaw who is
suspended, Steve Burton, running in the New York Marathon and Chris White is attending a coaching course. On the good news side,
skipper Paul Foot may be on the bench after being sidelined with a hernia.
Anderson is confident that whoever plays will do a good job: "Injuries and player unavailability will provide an opportunity for players
such as Kevin Larvin, Ben Morley and Peter Davidson have been unfortunate not to start in recent weeks. They are experienced and good
players who are part of a strong squad."
Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Ben Hallam, Ben Turner, Tom Matthews, Sam Denton, Kevin Larvin, Paul Harsley, Chris Bolder,
Ben Morley, Russell Fry, Alex Davidson, Wayne Brooksby, Peter Davidson, Gareth Owen, James Williams
