Ferriby Support Kit Aid

North Ferriby United are pleased to announce that the club has made a second donation of football kit to  Kit Aid to support Football Gambia. The Gambia is a west African country where a third of the population live below the international poverty line.

North Ferriby United's  first donation, in 2011, consisted of mini-soccer goals, as in the attached photograph, which are in regular use in Gambia. The latest donation consisted of 97 Shirts, 96 Shorts and 47 pairs of Socks and they should be dispatched to Gambia in the next few weeks.

North Ferriby United Chairman, Les Hare, says, "We are delighted to be able to provide kit and equipment for such a worthwhile cause. As a club, we are only too aware of the cost of providing kits. We are fortunate that sponsorship and fundraising allows us to provide new kits for our teams on a regular basis. It seems right to donate our surplus kit and equipment to those who are in need of it."

Alan Allcock, operations manager for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, comments: "As a League, we know only too well the importance of giving young people and adults opportunities through sport."

Kit Aid is a registered charity that collects and sends unwanted football kit to children and adults who love football but live in some of the poorest parts of the world. The charity, which has Graham Taylor OBE as its patron, has sent out over 150,000 kits to children and adults worldwide.

Derrick Williams MBE, KitAid's founder, commented: "We're delighted that the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League is working with us to give our campaign a boost and with such a strong fan base, I am sure plenty of kit will be donated. We see firsthand the difference that these donations can make to young people in some of the poorest parts of the world and would like to thank the people of North Ferriby for getting involved."
