FCHalifax Town v NFU (Evo Prem)

Match preview

Evostik League Premier Division
FC Halifax Town  v North Ferriby United
Saturday 20th November 2010 Kick-off 3.00 pm

Ferriby travel to West Yorkshire for a testing match against  league leaders AFC Halifax Town

Ferriby manager John Anderson will be hoping his side can return to winning ways after last Saturday's surprise home defeat against Nantwich Town. Anderson commented, "We did not play as well as we can in the first 60 minutes but the final thirty minutes showed they type of football we are capable of playing. That is how we will need to play on Saturday."

The promotion race is still in its early stages and The Villagers are well-placed to finish in the top five, especially if they can find some consistency at home. Their away form is as good as anybody's in the division and not many clubs will relish a visit from them. Halifax are the most consistent team in the division and are six points clear of second-placed Colwyn Bay. As Anderson says, "Halifax are obviously playing well and will provide a stern test for us."

Last week's defeat may lead to changes in The Villagers' starting-line-up. One definite change will be for Peter Davidson who, on Monday, announced his surprise departure to Australia for at least a year. The Club obviously wishes him well over there.

Alex Davidson and Gary Bradshaw are recovering from strains but are expected to be fit. Steve Wilson and Wayne Brooksby are both back in contention after injury and skipper Paul Foot may play some part as he returns to fitness following his hernia operation.

Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Ben Hallam,  Ben Turner, Tom Matthews, Paul Foot, Sam Denton, Kevin Larvin, Paul Harsley, Chris Bolder, Ben Morley, Russell Fry, Alex Davidson, Wayne Brooksby, Chris White, James Williams, Gareth Owen
