Bradford Park Avenue v NFU

Evostik League Premier Division
Bradford Park Avenue v North Ferriby United
Saturday 19 February 2011 Kick-off 3.00 pm

The Villagers have an early opportunity to reverse last Saturday's home defeat by Bradford Park Avenue when they travel to the Horsfall Stadium for the reverse fixture. Ferriby were below par last weekend and will believe that they can beat Bradford if they play to their usual standard.

Ferriby put Saturday's defeat behind them with a win at bottom club Retford on Tuesday. The team gave a very professional performance on a poor pitch that got worse as weather conditions deteriorated in the second-half.

Manager John Anderson will have been pleased with the character his players displayed on Tuesday. The team did not allow the conditions to frustrate them and they played their usual passing game as much as the conditions would allow.

Ferriby have displayed very good form away from home this season and are back in the play-off positions. There are still 11 teams who will fancy their chances of making the play-off places and with results in the division being so unpredictable it is almost impossible to predict who will be in the top five at the end of the season.

Anderson and his players believe that they are more than good enough qualify for the play-offs and this is a view echoed by a number of clubs throughout the division. For a club with the limited means that Ferriby has, it is amazing that over the last 15 years it has developed to become one of the top 250 clubs in the country. This says much for both the playing and non-playing side of a club which is well-managed and organised at all levels.

Anderson is without Chris White who is on a coaching course and Alex Davidson who has a medial ligament injury. Paul Harsley made a welcome, but earlier than expected, return, to the first team last Saturday. Ben Morley returned to the side on Tuesday following his one match suspension.

Possible Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Adam Nicklin, Ben Turner, Paul Foot, Steve Burton, Sam Denton, Paul Hasley, Kevin Larvin, Chris Bolder, Peter Davidson, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Wayne Brooksby, James Williams, Luke Thompson
